9:30 am on Sunday mornings. For directions, visit
<http://mashpeeucc.org>.
UCC’S STILLSPEAKING DAILY DEVOTIONAL: Looking for a
way to bring prayer and devotion into your everyday life? Subscribe to
the UCC’s Stillspeaking Daily Devotional! Written by some of the most
gifted writers and pastors in the United Church of Christ—including
Associate Minister Quinn Caldwell—these daily email messages provide a
simple and convenient opportunity to pause, reflect, and pray. Go to <i.ucc.org> and click on “Subscribe
to our free
email meditation.”
As a
way of widening Old South’s welcome and accessibility to those with hearing
impairments, Old South
is
experimenting with having our services interpreted.
For the next few
months,
we plan to have a ASL (American
Sign Language)
interpreter at services on the first and
third
Sundays of each month. Tracy
Villinski, a regular Old South attendee,
will
offer her services for some of those Sundays and
will coordinate
interpreters for the others.
HEALING
PRAYER GROUP
Watch the weekly bulletin
for
location
details. (Healing Prayer takes place on the second Sunday of each month
unless otherwise noted.) All
are welcome to this time
of prayer and reflection upon
God’s
healing power as we “practice the presence of God” and seek the healing
and hope needed for ourselves, each other, our community, and for the
world in which we live. For
more information, contact Ken Orth at
781/643-1112 or <ken.orth@comcast.net>.

way to remember loved ones
and special events. The cost is $50. Put your name by the date you want
and
send the message you wish to appear in the bulletin to Helen McCrady at
<helen@oldsouth.org>. Donors are needed for April through
November 2008.
Congregational
Prayer Requests
Click above to
send
an e-mail to our Associate
Minister
Quinn Caldwell
who will include
your prayer request into the
Pastoral
Prayer at the upcoming worship service. Upholding
one another in prayer is one of the best ways the church
can
care for one another. We would love to care for you or ones
you love
in
this way by praying with you in the Pastoral Prayer on Sunday mornings.
The best way to communicate your prayer requests is to e-mail
Quinn (above), or Nancy at <nst@oldsouth.org>,
or Quinn at <quinn@oldsouth.org>, or
to be
in touch with one of us by
phone at
617/536-1970. We publicly pray using only first names to protect
privacy but, of course, welcome your account of the
fuller names and stories as you communicate your
requests. Please do
not use the prayer box in the back
of
the sanctuary if your prayer is urgent. Note that this is a
change. We’ve decided
that the prayer box is best used to collect the prayers of
those who visit
our
sanctuary over the course of a week; while we try to collect
and pray
those
requests every Sunday, we are not always able to include
every prayer that is put into the box.
