Rachel grew up in Wayland, MA before moving to Toronto, ON for college. Before beginning her MDiv at the Boston University School of Theology in 2020, she worked in large-scale public sector transformation, including co-leading the development of the Simpler, Faster, Better Services Act, and other major digital and data modernization efforts in the Government of Ontario. She brings deep expertise in community development, strategic leadership, and innovation to her work at Old South, and enjoys building collaborative solutions to complex problems with diverse groups of stakeholders. Her policy work was recognized with an Amethyst Award, the highest honor granted to Ontario Public Servants. In addition to her MDiv, Rachel holds a Master of Information Studies and a Honors Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Toronto. Her graduate research on teaching ethics through novels can be read in the Journal of Information Ethics.
As a Minister, Rachel is deeply committed to discipleship, community building, and creating inclusive spaces where people can be seen, known and loved by each other and by the living God.
