Dimitri Januar Bawole (he/him) serves as the Nancy S. Taylor Leadership Fellow at Old South Church. Dimitri holds a Master of Theological Studies from Boston University School of Theology (2026) and a Bachelor of Theology from Satya Wacana Christian University (2019). His work explores the intersections of religion, gender, and sexuality, with particular interests in queer theology, HIV/AIDS activism, liberation theology, social justice, and lived religion. Originally from Manado, Indonesia, Dimitri previously worked as a religious education teacher at a private school and served as a youth minister at a church in Indonesia. In his free time, Dimitri enjoys long-distance running and recreating (both baking and cooking) family recipes his parents passed down.
