A native of China, pianist Yuexuan Wang (Joyce) began her musical training at age of five with her mother, a singer and choral conductor with a passion for Chinese folk music. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from the China Conservatory of Music and later completed both a Master of Music and a Performer Diploma at the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University under the tutelage of renowned pianist and composer Émile Naoumoff and the Busoni International Piano Competition winner Arnaldo Cohen. She is currently pursuing her Doctor of Musical Arts degree at Boston University.

Wang has performed across the U.S., Spain, Italy, and China, and has received prizes in
competitions such as the National Steinway Piano Competition (China), the Colorado
International Piano Academy Competition, and the Medici International Music Competition. In 2024–25, she served as the collaborative pianist for Boston University’s Symphonic Chorus and will begin teaching group piano lessons at BU in Fall 2025.

Outside of music, She enjoys listening to podcasts and immersing herself in RPG and crafting games, finding creativity and relaxation in virtual worlds as much as in music. She lives in Boston with her beloved cat, Frida, whose curious and independent spirit brings daily joy and inspiration.
