Your go-to spot for climate change related events in the Boston area.

• ALL MONTH – Plastic Free July, visit plasticfreejuly.org/ to sign up, and to learn what others are doing individually and in their communities. Organizers are asking people to practice going plastic free as a spiritual discipline for the month, or longer --acknowledging that it is more challenging this year with the banning of reusable grocery bags and the multiplying of single use items due to the pandemic.
• July 29, Wednesday:  3:30 p.m. From Smallpox to Covid-19.  A  free webinar where a distinguished panel of experts will discuss "the historical and present-day conditions that have made Indigenous people especially vulnerable to disease, and the strategies required to break this pattern of discrimination and social violence." This will look at the Indigenous peoples' suffering from smallpox and measles (and more) in the past, as well as the coronavirus today. 
• Thursdays in August: 2:00-5:00 p.m.  Eco America’s American Climate Leadership Summit 2020 A virtual event.  The faith organization, Blessed Tomorrow, is part of the more than 200 mainstream organizations that make up Eco America.  The August 13 date has a faith component as part of the program.
• Wednesday, August  5 at 1 p.m.  The Green New Deal and Reparations (webinar). The Green New Deal and Reparations are proposals that are usually discussed separately.  In this webinar, panelists US Rep. Barbara Lee, Tamara Toles O'Laughlin from 350.org, and Rev. Sekinah Hamlin of the UCC will explore connections between the two and how faith communities can work to advance just policies.
