Visiting Choirs

Each year, Old South Church welcomes hundreds of performers from around the world to participate in our Sunday morning Festival Worship service at 11AM. Ensembles interested in this visiting choir ministry should reserve a date at least two months in advance — you may do so filling out the form below.

Opportunities to perform can include a prelude of up to 15 minutes and, depending on logistics for the day, times within the service as well. Use of the Sanctuary’s concert grand piano and/or the 115-rank E.M. Skinner organ are optional. Visiting choirs are free to rehearse from 9–10AM in Old South’s sanctuary prior to Festival Worship, with the understanding the Old South Choir will require use of the space from 10AM onward. Advance rehearsal time in the Sanctuary may be possible on the Friday or Saturday prior to the scheduled service, but is not guaranteed. If changing rooms are required before or after the service, they must be reserved well in advance.

Please note that Old South warmly welcomes all spiritual and secular traditions, and while we do not require a program entirely made up of sacred music, we ask that your repertoire be respectful of the space in which you are performing. Visiting choirs often act as worship leaders — helping to lead congregational singing and spoken responses — along with the Festival Choir. As such, please plan attire appropriate to a worship context. Finally, we ask that all visiting ensembles treat our facilities with care.
